INTRODUCING ZACH COWIE

wooden2.jpg

Zach Cowie, also known as Turquoise Wisdom, is an eclectic international DJ, avid record collector, and Emmy-nominated music supervisor, best known for his work on Master of None. Originally from Chicago, Zach got his start in the business by working at various record stores and independent labels, such as Touch and Go Records and Drag City. He transitioned into a tour manager for the likes of Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom. Shifting gears,  Zach explored the role of music supervisor and went on to set the musical tone of beloved films, such as Celeste and Jesse Forever and The Little Hours. In addition to his ongoing collaboration with Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang, he can be found on tour, performing all vinyl sets with notable actor, Elijah Wood and offering musical consultation for the avant-garde luxury brand, Rodarte. I visited Zach's downtown Los Angeles loft to take a deeper look into his vast and elegantly curated collection of 10,000+ records and discuss his fascinating career evolution.
